I am also a victim of MRSA. I had a total knee replacement on March 2006 and while in the hospital,I got MRSA. No one told me I had it, but they knew. I was discharged and 4 days later I was readmitted and had to have 3 more surgeries. Now I wear a brace and use a walker because I can't walk by myself. It is very frustrating because you can't do anything legally abou it. So I started a non profit organization called Fight Staph Infection Inc. Please if you want to talk to me, please email me. Thanks Bonnie

My daughter is 17 years old and has been ill for 14 onths now. She has had recurring Staph infectins but no culture was ever performed by physicians. She has been on antibiotics during the course of her illnesses but until this morning I had no idea that the antibiotics being prescribed were of no use. She is now in Scott and White Hospital in Temple Texas' Pediatric unit. She gave birth to my my first grandchild in July of 2007 and was ill all during her pregnancy. I absolutley do not know how she has survived this long. I don't know how she has fought off the infections. I am confused and bitter because of the lack of physicians' concern. She has been in and out of the emergency rooms in Waco approximately 30 times. She has had approximately 30 fevers ranging from 102.5 to 104.5. She was diagnosed with flu three times after the delivery of my grandson. As her mother, I knew she was much more ill than what her diagnosises showed. I have kicked, screamed and begged Dr.s to find out what is wrong with my baby. I was right. She was much more ill than anyone thought. Keep Melanie in your prayers. She is a fighter and I will be beside her through this long ,tumultuous journey of life. I will NEVER give up on my child. Good luck to you all. Sincerely, Beverly Russell

I was diagnosed with mrsa 4 weeks ago after having my hysterectomy. I have the typical "skin staph infection" - red pimples with white heads - red and tender around the area. I had cultures ran and so far course one of meds, failed. I started second course today. Im so bumbed out that I have mrsa. I pray its not forever........forever is a long time :0

I have been dealing with MRSA after my accident now for 3yrs. I have had a great decline in my health, two major stays in hospital and lot of scars. I now have a breathing problem along with sines infections. It seams here in south Florida a good Dr. is had to fine. Hoping by joining your group that I might be able to get some help from folks that have been there or like myself still in the thick of it. I hope that I might help the MRSA community in return.

I have had what I think is MRSA since I was in High School. Everytime I went to the doctor they just gave me more antibiotics so I just kind of ignored them and delt with them. When I went away to college in BYC I still was getting them, worse then in High school. I have been to the ER four times to get them popped because they had turned so black on my back, knee and b*** I could no longer stanf the pain. I call those ones the "rare" ones, but most of them I just deal with by putting my heating pad on and taking 800mg of IBF every 6 hours. My husband thinks I'm super human cause of the pain tolerance I have against these things. I'm just writing to find out like all of you out there how to cure this!!!
